Description

The IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT) is an annual forum for the exchange of information on the research and development in innovative antenna technologies. It especially focuses on small antennas and applications of advanced and artificial materials to the antenna design. At iWAT, all the oral presentations are delivered by invited prominent researchers and professors. iWAT has a particular focus on posters by which authors have the opportunity to interact with leading researchers in their fields. iWAT2026 is a continuation of a series of annual international antenna workshops held in Singapore (2005), White Plaines, USA (2006), Cambridge, UK (2007), Chiba, Japan (2008), Santa Monica, USA (2009), Lisbon, Portugal (2010), Hong Kong, PRC (2011), Tucson, USA (2012), Karlsruhe, Germany (2013), Sydney, Australia (2014), Seoul, Republic of Korea (2015), Cocoa Beach, Florida, USA (2016), Athens, Greece (2017), Nanjing, China (2018), Miami, USA (2019), Bucharest, Romania (2020), Dublin, Ireland (2022), Aalborg, Denmark (2023), Sendai, Japan (2024) and Florida, USA (2025).

With great pleasure, we welcome you to the 22nd edition of the IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT2026), which will be held in Liverpool, UK, from March 25th–27th, 2026.

The workshop emphasises poster sessions, offering participants valuable opportunities to engage directly with leading researchers and experts in their fields. As a globally recognised event, iWAT has been hosted in various countries around the world, underscoring its international significance. In addition to Best Conference Paper, Student Paper Awards will be presented to students who demonstrate outstanding contributions through high-quality research, further encouraging innovation and excellence.

As the 22nd edition, iWAT2026 will be held in the Victoria Gallery & Museum of the University of Liverpool. The city of Liverpool is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, sports legacy, iconic music scene, and historic waterfront. A former UNESCO World Heritage Site, Liverpool offers attendees a unique blend of academic inspiration and memorable cultural experiences.

Victoria Gallery & Museum (VGM), designed by Alfred Waterhouse in 1887, originally housed the University of Liverpool’s library and collections. After extensive restoration, it was formally opened as a public museum in 2008 by HRH The Princess Royal. Today, the Grade II listed building showcases art and scientific heritage within its ornate Victorian interiors.

We look forward to welcoming you to Liverpool for iWAT2026 and sharing an exciting and rewarding experience together.
