Description
Sound Stitch WorkshopsOver the past few months while hand stitching outside my work has explored the types of threads and stitch types to express the rich range of contrasting sounds heard in the natural environment, some pleasantly dulcet or mellow, others piercing and insistent overlaid with those which are riotous and shrill. During a series of workshops I shared the journey with others, including young families and a small group of five WI members. During the workshops hand stitching was developed in a variety of ways to offer an opportunity for reflection and discovery through the simple pleasure of sewing outside in harmony with the audible sounds in the wetland environment.
