Description
Brass Art: The uncanny (Re-)Forming Sculptural Thinking will offer an emerging account of Brass Art’s concern with the uncanny as a performative sculptural tool. Drawing upon a selection of key artworks including Freud’s House: The Double (2015) and Kissing Pinks (2018), the paper will chart evolving patterns within the history of the uncanny and the importance of self-staging and emergent processes within the collaborative practice of Brass Art. The paper will reveal how the uncanny may arise within artistic practice to affectively re-form sculptural thinking.
