Description
Dr Alexandros Nikitas was appointed a Visiting Professor for the Division of Design & Human Factors, Department of Industrial and Materials Science, at Chalmers University of Technology in Spring 2022. Chalmers is a top-125 University according to the latest QS ranking and a global powerhouse in industrial and applied research. Dr Nikitas was formally invited by the Division Leader, the renowned Prof. MariAnne Karlsson, to work in Chalmers' Johanneberg campus for four weeks on collaborative research initiatives. This was a fully sponsored stay funded by Chalmers (15 Oct. -15 Nov. 2022). The Design & Human Factors Division has developed an international excellent research expertise on the relationship between humans and technology since mid1970s while educating global professionals with a user-centred perspective focused on innovation and real-life impact. One of its profile areas is Sustainable Urban Mobility with sub-topics that overlap with Dr Nikitas research experience and expertise. During his stay Dr Nikitas was hosted by Dr Pontus Wallgren and Dr Oskar Rexfelt. He took part in the Division's ongoing research together with the members of the Sustainable Urban Mobility team. The Chalmers hosts viewed this visit as a major step in accelerating a hands-on win-win collaboration between Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Huddersfield. This is because they see clear potential for long-term collaboration between their profile area Sustainable Urban Mobility and Dr Nikitas' Future Mobility Lab at Huddersfield Business School. The immediate outputs of this research collaboration refer to the submission of multiple research papers and plans about joint funding applications and a special issue in a leading journal.Period | 15 Oct 2022 → 15 Nov 2022 |
