Description
In this talk, we will discuss how connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can contribute to making our cities smarter and more sustainable with a particular focus on transportation. We will first present our research work on safety messages dissemination and congestion control to enhance CAVs' efficiency in different application scenarios. Then, we discuss a Q-Learning based UAVs path planning approach that enables them to support various applications efficiently and autonomously within a dynamic unknown environment. Finally, we present our recent work on integrating UAVs and a deep reinforcement learning based intersection control strategy to efficiently handle unexpected urban traffic congestion.
