Description

The notion of ‘presence’ has been discussed by a variety of authors in the philosophy of history in the last ten years or so to describe the process of ‘translating’ the past into the present by historians, i.e. to create a historical narrative. In this paper, this concept is used to discuss ontological and technical issues in digital history.
