Description
An understanding of the role of creative arts for mental health in young people is lacking. By studying the experience of different creative activities in various contexts, research can aid the identification of effective interventions as well as informing policy decisions and funding priorities for mental health projects that incorporate creative arts.
Whilst researching with young people is crucial to the production and exchange of knowledge it is a challenging and ‘messy’ endeavor. Young people’s researchers Eric and Stacey will discuss some of the strengths and challenges of undertaking young peoples research and hope to engage in some active discussions around how we might address some of the barriers to research in this area.
