Research in Conversation - Textiles that Talk!

Activity: Talk or presentation typesInvited talk

Description

A lecture to tell stories of grief, ecology, and our changing planet. My interdisciplinary art practice blends fabric, sound, and immersive installations to explore how personal and planetary loss are deeply intertwined.
I will present projects like Liquid Notation, Tipping Point and the collaborative book Humanitarian Handicraft. Through these works, I use textiles not just as materials but as powerful metaphors - unravelling environmental and social histories while offering fresh, embodied ways to respond to loss and hope.
This is a Research in Conversation event at University of Huddersfield and open to members of the public, students and staff, and a great opportunity to share our fantastic research and its relevance in the everyday world, featuring talks around various topics of interest, and hearing directly from our very own university experts and from those around the world.
