Residential Green Space and Health Inequalities: Evidence and Challenges for Healthy Places Policy

Activity: Talk or presentation typesOral presentation

Description

A short evidence-informed presentation drawing on a systematic review and meta-analysis conducted as part of the Healthy Housing Initiative. The presentation outlined how residential green and blue spaces function as social determinants of health, highlighted evidence that benefits are often stronger in more deprived communities and explored challenges for designing, funding and governing green spaces in ways that actively reduce health inequalities. The presentation was used as part of the Kirklees Healthier Places Policy Lab with the aim to stimulate discussion and collaboration among policymakers, planners, housing and public health professionals.
