Description
This conference considers multi-perspective approaches to ‘fieldwork’ as an avenue of enquiry for thinking about sculptural practice. From earths and underworlds, remote landscapes, extreme locations and even invisible particles as the resource for artistic investigations, new insights will be gathered in response to the self-generating spaces of sculptural immersion and engagement with the properties and atmospheres of material environments.
A conference organised in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield and Manchester Metropolitan University. Speakers include: Mónica Bello (European Organisation for Nuclear Research), Dr Ele Carpenter, (Goldsmiths, University of London), Dr Holly Corfield Carr (University of Cambridge), Marion Coutts (artist/Goldsmiths, University of London), Chris Dobrowolski (artist) and Professor Emily Puthoff (artist/SUNY New Paltz).
