Situating Ubuntu, an African Moral Philosophy, in the Moral Dialogue

Activity: Talk or presentation types › Oral presentation

Description

In a globalised world with organisational members from diverse cultures, it is not surprising to encounter people with differing worldviews. Cultural intelligence is vital for promoting harmonious coexistence and has been shown to predict specific work-related outcomes. However, when it comes to resolving moral dilemmas, intercultural management alone may not suffice, as the variety of contrasting worldviews can pose challenges. Some scholars argue that it is difficult to find a single ethical system that applies universally or suits every culture. Nonetheless, from a philosophical perspective, ethics remains the primary way of acquiring moral knowledge, making it a subject worthy of further exploration.
