Photography students on the Foundation Degree in Digital Photography, run by Course Leader Katrina Whitehead, were taking part in ‘The Spirit of Huddersfield’, a community project launched by Kirklees College, The SHARP Agency, Huddersfield Town Centre Partnership Ltd (HTCPL) and Kirklees Council.‘The Spirit of Huddersfield’ aimed to transform previously unused shop fronts into galleries showcasing the fresh talent of Kirklees College photography students, the first of which was unveiled by the Lord Mayor on Northumberland Street. The photographs will rejuvenate the otherwise empty units, making them more attractive properties that will entice businesses into the town centre, as well as being something the whole community can enjoy.
