A two-day symposium - a forum for the exchange of knowledge and practice facilitating transdisciplinary opportunities to create a new understanding of the challenges and idea generation for potential solutions - conceptual, theoretical methodological - addressing the textile waste management conundrum, the broader sustainability issues that the fashion/clothing and textiles industries face, and the wider implications of the circular economy. The core objective is to bring together researchers and experts to share knowledge and to collectively develop a new understanding of how industry practice may change in order to benefit global environments, people and creative economies. It will raise awareness of different viewpoints to stimulate new debates through the cross-fertilisation of ideas, knowledge and expertise. This will be achieved through Keynote Speeches, Research Paper Presentations and Poster Presentations, exhibitions, an Open Forum with Panel Members and the presentation of a Performance and series of Upcycle Workshops.
