Description

The exhibition is concerned with a diversity of living experiences, heritage, tourism, and zero-carbon approaches. Too often sustainability is seen as restricting human future development when it should be embraced as a new opportunity to link research to users/stakeholders through knowledge transfer and feedback loops.

It will address multiple activity themes. Within the Built Environment sub-theme: Sustainable architecture and urban development; Construction processes and housing; and Digital technologies in the built environment; and within Sustainable Living sub-theme: Sustainable societies; Responsible leadership; climate change; and social and environmental geography and Zero Carbon Living.

There is a contemporary emphasis on these topics driven by climate emergency but also reflecting changing attitudes post-Covid. There is also recognition of changing needs for support development and preservation of built and natural environments within them and optimizing transport resources in a responsible way. The situation is urgent because of the fast adoption of new technologies which will impact both new and existing infrastructure and the need for socio-cultural aspects to be considered.
