Description
The Ted Hughes Network worked in partnership with the Au Brana Theatre Company (France) to support the company's northern tour of their adaptation of Ted Hughes's long narrative poem, 'Gaudete'. As part of this package of support, I organised: a guest public lecture on 'Gaudete' by Professor Neil Roberts of Sheffield University, a world-leading Hughes expert; led two community creative writing workshops based on 'Gaudete' (one in Huddersfield, the other in Mexborough); and provided free tickets to community creative writing groups and students to the Huddersfield and Barnsley performances. My colleagues David Rudrum and James Underwood played leading roles in this work.Period | 1 Mar 2017 → 30 Apr 2017 |
