Description
Unland will draw together composers and participants to make a new sound performances based around the psychogeographic memory of rural mid-Wales, it will utilize newly digitized sound archives held in the National Library of Wales (Screen and Sound Archive), these archives including oral recordings of forest workers and community singing festivals (eisteddfodau) from the 1970s will provide the tangible material that will be re-presented and re-worked, possibly in installation and in situ as well as used in improvisatory workshops and as basis for electroacoustic performance, participants will take part in workshops to explore sound interpretation, composition and improvisation leading to performance and public talks about sound, memory and place will be held at venues including National Library of Wales and Ceredigion Museum .Kristina will develop a workshop around folklore and the supernatural represented through spatial audio and virtual acoustics. Her interest in folklore of Wales will in itself draw many members of the public. This will take place at the National Library of Wales.
