Backed by billions, Uber's Jump electric bikes may conquer London

    Press/Media: Expert Comment

    Description

Dockless cycle-sharing schemes have struggled in London, but the arrival of Uber’s bright red Jump bikes could change that.

The southern tip of the borough now has four separate cycle hire schemes, and with 'Boris Bikes' still accounting for an estimated 80 per cent of bikeshare journeys in the capital, is another product really warranted?

Alexandros Nikitas comments: “This is a saturated environment,”  “But London is a mega-city. If you bring something different, then there is a case to be made. Will they be able to bring something different, a particular twist that will inspire trust and create enthusiasm?”
