Description

Major new research on climate change, how it connects with what men do, and what to do about it has just been published by a research team including Professor Tamara Shefer, senior professor in Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), who holds the DSI-NRF SARChI Chair in Blue Humanities and Gender Justice, and Professor Jeff Hearn, extraordinary Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies.

Subject

Hearn, professor of sociology in Huddersfield’s Department of Social and Psychological Sciences, says: “There is now plenty of research that shows clear negative impacts of some men’s behaviour on the environment and climate; what is astonishing is how this aspect does not figure in most debate and policy on a more sustainable world.”
