This documentary brings together highlights from stakeholder engagement and dissemination workshops held in Accra and Kumasi, Ghana, as part of a collaborative effort to strengthen dementia care, research, awareness, and policy development across the country. The events brought together a diverse range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, academics, policymakers, government representatives, family caregivers, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), community leaders, faith leaders, media representatives, and advocates. Through open dialogue and knowledge sharing, participants explored the challenges associated with dementia in Ghana and discussed practical solutions for improving support for people living with dementia and their families. The documentary showcases key findings from ongoing dementia research, examines the experiences of individuals living with dementia and their caregivers, and highlights discussions on early recognition, diagnosis, care pathways, workforce development, public awareness, community engagement, and health system preparedness. It demonstrates the importance of partnership working across healthcare, academia, policy, and community sectors in creating more accessible, inclusive, and culturally responsive dementia services. This work forms part of a wider programme of dementia research and knowledge exchange led by Dr Precious Adade Duodu (@PreciousAdadeDuodu ), Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and International Lead for the Department of Nursing at the University of Huddersfield, UK (@hudduni), Visiting Senior Lecturer at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, and Principal Investigator of the UK-Ghana Dementia Research Collaboration. Working alongside an international and multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and community partners, the programme aims to advance dementia research, influence policy, strengthen capacity, and improve outcomes for older adults and their families in Ghana and beyond.
