Description

The British Psychological Society, Leeds Psychologist in the Pub

Subject

Dr Chris Street is interested in understanding how people reach a judgment of lie or truth, and what might influence their decision. The Adaptive Lie Detector theory argues that peoople are making smart and informed judgments about whether someone is lying to them. Dr Chris Street will explore how decisions that on the surface seem error-prone can actually be masking a deeper, smarter judgment process that we are using to reach our decision.
