Description

Bernard Gallagher comments on the TV show Leaving Neverland regarding the allegations of child sex abuse against Michael Jackson:

'The allegations against Michael Jackson could be considered an ‘extreme case’ of parental grooming.'

'The singer’s wealth meant he was able to offer families ‘the world.’  ‘The abuser has something or can offer something that the parent need or wants, and the abuser can use this to manipulate the parent – in particular so they can get access to their child. Much of this happens in poor or vulnerable families – but it also happens in more mainstream families.'
