Simplifying the Immigration Rules: the government response makes the solution sound so simple

This blog post reports on and analyses the government’s response to the Law Commission’s report on the simplification of the Immigration Rules. It follows Gemma Manning and my comment on the Law Commission’s report for this blog. The post suggests that the government response gives the impression that the simple cosmetic changes recommended by the Law Commission are likely to be made, but that the underlying, harder to address issues will remain untouched.
