Votes for 16-Year-Olds Should Be Based on Wider Evidence, Not Just a Need for Participation

Description

The announcement that 16 and 17-year-olds in Wales will be given the right to vote in local council elections comes as part of a wider package of proposals to encourage greater participation in Welsh democracy. But this is not an isolated move. The partial lowering is part of an incremental shift towards the introduction of “votes at 16” for all elections in the UK.
