Biography

Alex joined Huddersfield University as a Senior Lecturer after working in similar positions at different institutions. He has an MSc in Musculoskeletal Healthcare and a PhD in Pain management which led him to undertake post-doctoral research positions investigating the use of mirror therapy for upper-limb function in hemiparetic cerebral palsy and systematic reviews and clinical studies in the area of physical rehabilitation in older people and after stroke. His clinical background was in the acute sector working across all areas of physiotherapy provision and he has a strong interest in using research and evidence based practice to further service delivery. His areas of interest are in the areas of Rehabilitation service delivery and motor control, and he is currently supervising PhD students in several related areas.
