Biography

I'm graduated in Genetics and Biotechnology by UTAD and I did an internship at CIIMAR (evolutionary bioinformatics). In my master thesis I used cell culture, flow cytometry, confocal microscopy and molecular biology techniques to study the influence of NAD metabolism in protein aggregation at iBiMED. Also, I participated in an evolutionary bioinformatics project using a probabilistic tool, CHESTER. Then, I went to the University Hospital for Children and Adolescents in Leipzig to study NAD metabolism in NAFLD, as ERASMUS+ student and I did cell culture and qPCR using RNA from human cell lines and mouse liver. In present, I'm a DTA PhD Student/Research Assistant at University of Huddersfield and I'm studying DNA polymerases in the aging of mtDNA.
