Biography
Andy is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy, having joined the University in January 2020. He maintains his clinical practice by working privately as an MSK physiotherapist alongside lecturing on the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme.
Andy spent over 7 years in professional football as the Head Academy Physiotherapist at Burnley Football Club between June 2004 and November 2011. After mentoring any physiotherapy students in professional practice he decided to move into Higher Education, joining the University of Bolton as a Senior Lecturer in November 2011. Andy lectured on both MSc and BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation routes and designed a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy route which was accredited in January 2020.
Andy completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Teesside in 2004 and an MSc in Exercise & Sport Injury at Manchester Metropolitan University in May 2011. Andy is also a Level 2 Pre Hospital Immediate Care in Sport (PHICIS) assessor with the England Rugby Union and assesses candidates in both Higher education and community settings.
