Anna has joined the Huddersfield Business School in September 2018 as a Senior Lecturer in Management in the Department of Management.
Prior to this, she has worked as a lecturer in the University of Bradford School of Management (2007-2017), York Management School (2018) and Manchester Business School (2002-2007). Anna's research projects focus on subjects of business ethics, gender equality and government CSR policy.
Anna is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. She has extensive experience in teaching students on all degree levels, particularly specialising in research methods, business ethics, strategy and international business. She has served as a Director of Studies for the University of Bradford DBA programme for three years.
Anna’s research adopts both a micro and a macro perspective on organisational ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility. She is interested in the routine practices associated with ethical conduct and responsibility initiatives in organisations and has written on the subject of ethical leadership. Part of her current research focuses on the presence and practical value of uncertainty and ambiguity in the practice of organisational ethics. In addition to this, she has explored how and why powerful social actors such as governments engage with the Corporate Responsibility agenda.
In her studies, Anna combines management literature with writings in ethical philosophy, discourse analysis, psychoanalysis and myth. Her research is inspired and informed by perspectives offered by Jacques Derrida, Emmanuel Levinas, Simone de Beauvoir and Carl Jung.
Anna’s most recent research project is the study of how UK organisations implement the recent government requirement to disclose their gender pay gap. The goal is to evaluate the impact of the reporting requirement on closing the gender pay gap, and, more generally, the extent to which increased transparency and reporting contributes to ethical conduct and well-being in organisations.
