Biography

I am an experienced EFL and EAP teacher with years of experience in academic and study skills instruction as well.

I started my teaching career in Hungary as an EFL teacher in private language schools and in high schools in 2001. After almost a decade of teaching English in Hungary, I completed my master's degree in TESOL and Applied Linguistics and found employment at a university in Kuwait where I taught EAP for undergraduate students. On my return to the UK, I continued to teach EAP, first in Belfast, then in Coventry and Sheffield before I came to Huddersfield.

I started working in the School of Education and Professional Development in 2015 as a Language and Study Skills Tutor helping both international and home students achieve academic success. Since 2021, I have been a lecturer in TESOL in the school. I am currently working on my PhD, which focuses on master’s level international students’ study skills development.
