Biography

Audrey joined the university in September 2015 and is the PGCE English tutor and course manager for the blended learning apprenticeship and employment based PGCEs. Prior to this she was the course manager for the Troops to Teachers undergraduate programme. Audrey spent 15 years as a secondary English teacher, and has taught Years 7-13 across the ability range. She has acted as senior mentor for students on the Graduate Teacher Programme, Overseas Teacher Trainees and for students completing School Centred Initial Teacher Training courses. She has also been a mentor for Newly Qualified Teachers and a school-based tutor for the MTL. During this time Audrey also carried out the roles of Head of KS3 English and Subject Leader for KS4 English. Prior to her teaching career Audrey qualified and worked as a Registered Mental Nurse and a Registered General Nurse, specialising in Accident and Emergency care.
