Biography

Bakhtiar obtained his B.Sc. in Software Engineering, and M.Sc. degree (with distinction) in Advanced Computer Science, both from the University of Huddersfield. Prior to his outstanding achievement, Bakhtiar has been awarded a Vice-Chancellor (VC) Scholarship from the University of Huddersfield to complete his Ph.D. in recognition of a programme of work entitled “Distributed Contextual Anomaly Detection from Big Event Streams” under the supervision of Professor Grigoris Antonio and Dr. Violeta Holmes.

Bakhtiar worked at several UK’s higher education institutions including Aston University as Post-doc research fellow in the field of Smart Lighting and Energy Efficient Lighting Data Analytics for the Big Data Corridor Project (European Regional Development Fund - ERDF). From 2018 until 2021, he worked as Lecturer in the department of Computer Science at the University of Liverpool (UK). 

Despite to his academic experience, Bakhtiar worked for several national and international Tech companies including Huawei Telecommunication as software engineer, ADT as Data Scientist and ADAM ECS as Web and Mobile Application Development Manager.

The main focus of his research is to design and validates real-time anomaly detection model and algorithm to learn and predict from massive scale of streaming data.
