Benita joined the University of Huddersfield in January 2020 and is Head of Division for Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, which includes Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Benita is an occupational therapist, qualifying in 1995 from the University of Queensland, Australia. She has experience of working in children's health services in Australia, Romania, England and Scotland, and has also worked as a clinical educator and lecturer for the University of Queensland.
Benita completed her PhD in 2019 while working as head of service for children with additional needs. She remains passionate about finding effective ways to support children and young people with disabilities to participate fully in all of their daily occupations, especially leisure.
