Biography
Berenice is a Senior Lecturer in Social Sciences in the Division of Criminology, Politics and Sociology. She is also the Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Health and Community Development which sits within the Division of Social Care and Counselling.
Berenice undertook all her studies at the University of Huddersfield, she joined the University in 2001, as a mature student. Her studies began with the Women into Science and Technology (WITS) access course. She then went on to complete her first degree; BSc (Hons) Health with Community Studies degree achieving Honours First Class in 2005. She also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) before embarking on a 1 +3 (ESRC funded) studentship. She completed the MSc Social Research and Evaluation (Social Work; 2006-2007) before commencing on her doctoral research.
Berenice was awarded her PhD in 2011 for her research that explored egg sharing, an assisted reproduction treatment, and women's experience of providing informed consent within the context of egg sharing arrangements. She has published from her research and presented at National and International conferences.
