Personal profile

Biography

Dr Catherine Hill is a Research Assistant in Predictive Health Monitoring Technologies within the School of Computing and Engineering. Her research focuses on integrating smart‑home sensing, physiological monitoring, and data‑driven modelling to support early identification of health changes and develop predictive approaches to home‑based healthcare.

Her interdisciplinary background spans biomedical and mechanical engineering, soft‑tissue biomechanics, sensor development, and advanced wound‑care diagnostics. Her doctoral thesis Advanced Wound Care: Working towards standardised test platforms for novel therapies established standardised methodologies for evaluating wound‑care technologies and soft‑tissue surrogate materials.

Catherine’s current work contributes to the development of digital‑twin frameworks, remote monitoring methods, and sensor‑based analytics for preventative and personalised healthcare applications. Her interests include predictive health technologies, physiological sensing, smart‑home data fusion, wound‑care engineering, and the development of translational medical‑device evaluation platforms.
