Chris Cameron began his working life by leaving school at sixteen with little in the way of qualifications to show for it. He went on to work in mining, following generations of his family. Whilst the mining industry was being 'rationalised' in 1992 he pursued a long standing interest and preserved his sanity (although some would say not) by undertaking a solitary 'A' level in Psychology at an evening class. He undertook his first degree (Behavioural Sciences at the University of Huddersfield) in 1993, never believing he could complete it. He undertook his PhD in 1996, never believing he could complete that either. He currently enjoys life as an academic and supporting those who want to progress their life chances through education as he did.
