Biography

Claudio De Mattos is currently a Senior Lecturer in Management (International Strategy, Sustainability and Entrepreneurship Subject Group) at the University of Huddersfield. His current research interests are focused on international business cooperation (e.g., alliances and M&As) as well as cross-cultural differences and similarities in international business and international marketing. It predominantly examines the context of large emerging markets and high technology sectors. Other topics of interest include international negotiations, international entrepreneurship and international branding. Doctoral (PhD, DBA) and Research Master (MRes, MPhil) students interested in the above topics are welcome.

Claudio De Mattos completed his PhD at the University of Bradford under the supervision of Professor Peter Buckley. He has been publishing his work in internationally recognised journals such as 'International Business Review', 'R&D Management', 'International Journal of Human Resource Management', 'International Journal of Operations and Production Management', ‘International Journal of Production Research’, and 'Journal of Marketing Management'. In addition, he has been presenting his work at a number of leading international conferences. He has taught in several British Universities such as University of Bradford, Leeds University, Aston University, and the University of Manchester. He is regularly invited for external lectures (e.g., at the University of Leeds and at ISM University of Management and Economics, Vilnius, Lithuania) and has held a number of external positions such as Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for International Business University of Leeds (CIBUL) UK and External Examiner for the University of Bradford, Bradford UK. He was also a Jean Monnet Research Fellow and an EPSRC-BRITEST Research Fellow at Leeds University Business School. Prior to joining academia he worked in the oil industry as well as in the defence industry.
