Biography

My primary research interest is in the area of cognitive architectures, theories of the large scale, permanent structures, functions and processes of the human mind.

I have worked with the ACT-R cognitive architecture for nearly twenty years, using it to develop computational cognitive models to understand the complex interactions that occur between cognitive, perceptual and motor processes when people reason and solve problems with external representations of information such as diagrams, computer interfaces, graphs and maps.
