Biography

Dr Daya Pandey joined the School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Huddersfield in 2020 as a Senior Lecturer in Thermofluids and Energy Systems. He has previously served as a Ruskin Fellow and Lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University (2018-2020). Following a short period in Abbott Diagnostic Division (health care company), in 2017, Dr Pandey joined the RCUK – Centre for Sustainable Energy Use in Food Chains, Institute of Energy Futures, Brunel University London on EPSRC funded project as a Research Fellow where he worked on the optimising energy demand in industry to reduce carbon emissions and waste to energy conversion and integration. Dr Pandey is a Chartered Engineer, a Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Dr Pandey received his first degree in Mechanical Engineering from Integral University, a Master degree in Energy Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India in 2008 and 2010 respectively and a PhD from the University of Limerick, Ireland (2013-2016). He was awarded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Fellowship from the European Union. He was a Visiting Researcher in the Bioenergy Group at the University of Seville, Spain (in 2014 and 2016).

On completing his master studies, he worked as a Senior Engineer (Mechanical) in the project execution department of Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Limited (A petrochemical company), Assam in India. He was also associated with the Chair of Mechanical Process Engineering Research Group at Martin-Luther-University, Halle (Saale), Germany and with the Engine Research Group at the University of Nottingham, UK.
