Prior to my appointment in University of Huddersfield as a Course Leader & Senior Lecturer of Fashion Design, I have worked for more than two decades and developed links with both academia and industry in Higher Education Universities such as University of Southampton, (Winchester School of Art, Dalian), Nottingham Trent University, Teesside University and Pearl Academy of Fashion. Currently I am also part of the organising committee to organise the The 92nd Textile Institute World Conference (TIWC) 2023 , it will be hosted by the University of Huddersfield on 3-6 July 2023.I was appointed as Lecturer of Fashion in MIMA School of Art and Design, in 2019 and was previously appointed in August 2014 as a Senior Teaching Fellow Fashion Design (Dalian) within Winchester School of Art at the University of Southampton in August 2014. I was rewarded for academic excellence in teaching Fashion Design and contribution to the curriculum including curating yearly Graduation Shows in the UK and China. During my posting, I have disseminated my research to various Universities in China and abroad. I have received Joint funding for research for three years 2016-2019 awarded by Ministry of Education and Dalian Polytechnic University, China. I was awarded a two-year tenure as a Visiting Professor.  I have consistently pushed boundaries and used cutting edge technologies to teach Fashion Design as a Module Leader including Design Development, Fashion Styling, Photography, Creative Pattern Cutting, Visual Culture and Reflective Journal. Previously as an alumnus of prestigious Pearl Academy of Fashion, New Delhi, India (1997), and Nottingham Trent University, U.K (2003- 2012). I received Nottingham Trent University’s Prestigious Vice Chancellors Award for full-time doctoral research in 2007. During my doctoral research (2007- 2012) I had various teaching and mentoring roles to work with both UG and PG students in Nottingham Trent University. Apart from my academic career I have worked on a variety of paid consultancy projects for the Indian Export Industry, Wills Lifestyle, Levi’s (India), Abercrombie & Fitch, Paul Smith and Kjaer Global Ltd.
