Personal profile

Biography

Following my training and qualification as a social worker, I have worked in a number of community mental health teams.  I have also worked in specialist services, included an Assertive Outreach Team, where my work was focused with working with people who experienced mental distress and had difficulty engaging with mainstream mental health services in the community.

I qualified as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) in 2013, and continue to practice as an AMHP in the field.  In 2017, I started a secondment at the University of Huddersfield as a Lecturer/Practitioner in mental health social work.  I have continued this role and am currently employed by the University as a Lecturer in Social Work (Mental Health) part time, as well as continuing my role as an AMHP working for a local authority.
