Biography

George Ndi holds an LLM in Petroleum Law and a PhD is Natural Resources Law, both from the University of Dundee in Scotland. He teaches mainly in the areas of Commercial Law, International Law and International Dispute Settlement. He has previously been course leader for the LLM in Legal Practice course, and he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. George has published widely in the areas of natural resources law and policy, the law of armed conflict and international investment law. His paper on 'Regulating International Armed Conflicts' won the Best Research Paper Award at the International Conference on Law, Regulation and Public Policy (LRPP 2017) held in Singapore in June 2017. He has delivered a number of lectures and training courses internationally, including a training course on the 'Jurisdictional and Applicable Law Aspects of Combating Transnational Acts of Corruption' to prosecutors working for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria. 

George has supervised a number of PhD candidates to successful completion of their research projects, in the role of either the main supervisor or a co-supervisor, on topics relating to international & comparative law, diplomatic law, arms control, and shipping law. He has been an external examiner for PhD theses at a number of UK universities including Anglia Ruskin University, University of Bradford, University of Bedfordshire, Leeds Beckett University, and the University of Strathclyde. George is a currently member of the editorial board of a number of peer reviewed journals including the International Journal of Law and Public Administration, and the Pakistan Journal of Commerce and Social Sciences. He is a regular reviewer for MDPI Sustainability Journal (Switzerland) and for the International Journal of Law and Public Administration. George has also previously reviewed articles for the International Bar Association's Journal of Energy and Natural Resources Law.
