George is a Senior Lecturer in Law, having joined the University in 1995 as a Lecturer.

Education and Training
George undertook both undergraduate and postgraduate law degree studies in Cameroon  before proceeding to the then Centre for Petroleum & Mineral Law & Policy at the University of Dundee in Scotland, from where he graduate with the LLM and PhD in International Economic Law, specializing in Petroleum and Mining Law. He continues to undertake in this area and some aspects of his postgraduate teaching is informed by his research.

George is currently PGR Leader for the School of Law and supervises a number of doctoral research students. He has been been an external examiner for a number of doctoral thesis at UK universities.

Professional Affiliations
George is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Member of the Academic Advisory Board of the IEC Group of Institutions in New Delhi, India. He is also an Editorial Advisory Board member of the RIVCAS Law Journal which is published in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

He is also a reviewer for the International Bar Association's Journal of Energy & Natural Resources Law, as well as for the Pakistan Journal of Social Sciences.

  • Assessment of the effectiveness of international investment regime 
  • International law principles and norms which govern foreign investment protection in the petroleum and natural resources sector 
  • Conflict of laws and jurisdiction on the settlement of international investment and international commercial disputes
