Personal profile


Geraldine Regan is a Senior Lecturer in Childhood Studies at the University of Huddersfield commencing September 2014.  Previously, she held the position of Associate Professor in the school of Nursing Midwifery and Health Sciences in University College, Dublin for three years. Geraldine was the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Nursing at Ireland’s largest Children’s Hospital, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, Dublin where she was employed from 2002 until 2014. During this time she managed a range of Health and Social Care Professionals and Nursing Staff, was involved in strategic planning and in establishing systems and structures for Quality and Patient Safety within the hospital. She previously held the position of Director of Nursing in an acute general hospital and Divisional Nurse Manager in a large academic teaching hospital.

Geraldine was also a part time lecturer in Dublin City University where she taught Health Policy.

In the past Geraldine has worked for a homeless charity both as a volunteer and subsequently as a full time Director. She also worked for a local community on the third EU’s programme to Combat Poverty.
