Biography

Gerard was appointed as Professor of Rural Entrepreneurship at Huddersfield Business School in November 2014. Prior to that he was Professor of Entrepreneurship at Sheffield Hallam and Nottingham Trent Universities and Reader in Rural Entrepreneurship at the University of Lincoln. Gerard started his working life as an apprentice Plater in the now non-existent Shipbuilding industry on the River Tees, before attending Teesside Polytechnic as a mature Student. Gerard is the Editor of The International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation published by SAGE, which he launched in 2000. He sits on numerous Editorial Boards in the area of Entrepreneurship.
