Biography
Hamidreza Faham (Hamid Reza Fahham) is presently the Research Fellow in Institute of Railway Research (IRR) at University of Huddersfield from December 2020. He is working on developing robotics and automation systems (RAS) in the maintenance process of rolling stocks. Dr Faham was working as Research Assistant in Centre for Integrated Energy Generation and Supply (CIREGS) Group at Cardiff University in UK from September 2019 to December 2020. He designed PCM thermal energy storage for both industry and domestic applications. Hamid obtained his PhD from Shiraz University, Iran (2009), MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, Iran (2002) and BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Shiraz University, Iran (2000). Hamid was working as assistant professor of Mechanical Engineering in Marvdasht Islamic Azad University (MIAU) from 2009 to 2018. He was working as instructor of Mechanical Engineering in MIAU between 2003-2009. He has received the best Scientist Research Award of School of Engineering from MIAU in 2011. Hamid was Dean of the Sama College at Marvdasht Islamic Azad University (MIAU) from 2012-2018. During his tenure as dean he added five new degree programs, and more than doubled the number of students. He has been the supervisor of more than 10 MSc and 4 PhD thesis of Mechanical Engineering in MIAU.
He has authored or co-authored more than 20 technical articles, 6 research projects, and one book. Hamid has collected a good knowledge of using CAD/CAE/FEA software of Mechanical Engineering. His current research includes developing, simulation, modelling, and path planning of industrial robots for maintenance application in rolling stocks.
