Biography

Hana Benesova joined the Business School as Research Assistant for the Emerging Markets Research Group (EMERGE) at the start of the third year of her PhD studies at the University of Huddersfield.

After graduating with Bachelor degrees in Economics at the Technical University of Liberec and European Business at the University of Huddersfield, Hana obtained a Master’s degree (with Distinction) in International Business with Financial Services. Hana’s PhD is in the area of corruption and trust and is concerned specifically with the interplay of these two phenomena in transition context.

Hana cooperates with universities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2013 she helped to organise the first EMERGE Doctoral Conference with participants from various Central and Eastern European countries. While working for a well-known publisher, she helped to create awareness of publishing possibilities and the use of case studies by Central and Eastern European academic institutions.

In addition to her cooperation with Central and Eastern European Universities, she also works on a number of projects with universities from Central Asia and North Africa aimed at student exchange and promoting research collaboration.

Research Expertise and Interests

  • Understanding the dynamics of societal changes in volatile and transition economies 
  • The role of trust and corruption in societies and the interplay of these two phenoma 

Fingerprint Fingerprint is based on mining the text of the person's scientific documents to create an index of weighted terms, which defines the key subjects of each individual researcher.
