Just after graduating with his BSc degree in Solid Mechanics from Tehran Polytechnic University, Hossein received his MSc degree in applied mechanics from Khajeh Nasir Toosi University in 2002. He spent over fifteen years working on various industrial projects, primarily focused on FE analysis, design and test.

In 2013, he started his PhD in Railway Engineering, entitled “Analysis of transient effects of wheel-flats on fatigue crack initiation life of train wheels” and graduated in 2018.

In 2017, he received funding from the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran to take a sabbatical leave at the Technical University of Delft (TUDelft) in The Netherlands. He worked at TUDelft's Material Science and Engineering (MSE) department for over a year.  

Hossein joined the Institute of Railway Research in January 2019 as a Research Assistant and was promoted to Research Fellow in 2022. In IRR, he is responsible for FE analysis, laboratory and field testing of railway assets, hammer testing, and signal processing.
