Biography

I graduated with a degree in chemistry from the University of Leicester and then completed a PhD in physical chemistry at Leicester Polytechnic. I followed this with post-doctoral work in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge working on high temperature superconducting materials and the Department of Materials Engineering at Brunel University looking at alternative electrolytes for SOFCs.

I joined the University of Huddersfield in 1998 studying porous materials as adsorbents and catalysts before moving to work for IPOS (ipos.hud.ac.uk) a commercial group based in the School of Applied Sciences offering a wide range of analytical services to Industry covering organic, inorganic, polymer materials, ranging from one off analysis work to method development and validation and regular analysis of samples in the accredited dedicated laboratories.
