Hugo Magalhães is Research Fellow at the Institute of Railway Research, University of Huddersfield, UK. He has completed his MSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2013 entitled “Development of Advanced Computational Models of Railway Vehicles” at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon. Also at IST, Hugo obtained the PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 with the thesis entitled: “Development of Advanced Multidisciplinary Methods for Railway Dynamics Applications”. His research activities in Railway started 8 years’ involving vehicle dynamics, wheel-rail interaction, tilting control and optimization.
