Biography

Hugo Magalhães is Research Assistant at the Institute of Railway Research, University of Huddersfield, UK. He has completed his MSc in Mechanical Engineering in 2013 entitled “Development of Advanced Computational Models of Railway Vehicles” at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon. Currently, he is finishing his PhD in Mechanical Engineering entitled: “Development of Advanced Multidisciplinary Methods for Railway Dynamics Applications”, also at IST, which will be concluded in 2019. His research activities in Railway started 7 years’ involving vehicle dynamics, wheel-rail interaction, tilting control and optimization.
