Biography

Dr Hugo Sanjurjo-González joined the University in 2018 as a Research Fellow of the project "Hansard at Huddersfield".

He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of León (Spain) in 2017. His thesis dissertation focused on the development of a software for corpus analysis that allows users to create their own multilingual annotated corpora without assistance from technical staff. It was centred on the automation of complex processes, such as aligning, tagging or indexing, employing existing software together with additional custom-built software. This thesis dissertation was awarded a top grade plus a cum laude distinction.

He is member of the ACTRES (Contrastive Analysis and Translation English-Spanish in its Spanish acronym) research group [http://actres.unileon.es/?lang=en].
