Personal profile


Iain is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management having held previous faculty positions at the University of Liverpool’s Management School. Iain is also the Director of the University of Huddersfield’s Business Transformation Centre (BTC), which supports local businesses through numerous knowledge transfer initiatives in order to create business resilience and excellence.

Iain too is the programme leader for the MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management, which is also accredited with the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT).

Prior to embarking upon an academic career, Iain worked as a Projects Manager on an EU funded ERDF project supporting over 80 manufacturing organisations, improving operational processes, management information systems and supply chain integration, of which a number of them became knowledge transfer partnerships (KTPs).

Iain’s research is broadly focused around Lean Thinking and Service Modularity, particularly the engagement of Professional Service Operations Management within the Legal Profession.
