Biography

Imran joined the Huddersfield Business School in 2020 as a Senior Lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, having previously worked as a lecturer in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Cranfield University, UK, part time lecturer in Aberystwyth University, Wales, UK, lecturer at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia. Prior to the commencement of his academic career, he have got more than 5 years of diverse telecom industry experience in the field of enterprise network solution designing for multinational global accounts at SIEMENS. He is certified solution consultant by Siemens Germany.

Imran completed his PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management from Aberystwyth University, UK with his research examining the cloud-based solutions for collaboration, integration and technological innovation in firms and across the supply chains. Earlier he has completed MEng in Telecommunication Engineering from RMIT University, Australia and BEng in Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Saudi Arabia.

Imran has lived in Germany, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. This has provided him the experience of working with different cultures and teams and the challenges for handling projects in different environments.

Imran is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), U.

Imran’s teaching focuses on operations management, inventory management, information systems and eBusiness, supply chain of future, big data analytics and technological innovation in the context of multi-tier complex supply chains.

Recently Imran have completed projects on integrating social media and distributed warranty data of complex car manufacturing by cloud technology, optimization of global multi-tier supply chain design to match customized product architecture and identification of technological barriers and innovation in global supply chain for developing countries. Imran employ’s both qualitative and quantitative methods of research by proficiently using technologies such as SPSS, Stata, NVivo, R and Tableau.
